How to Use Korean Voice Helper

Voice Helper is designed to help international travelers communicate more easily in everyday situations during a trip to Seoul. Choose your language, find a useful phrase, and tap Play Korean to hear the Korean expression.

1

Choose Your Language

Start by selecting the language you are most comfortable with from the language menu. The phrase list will then show the selected-language version together with the Korean expression.

2

Choose a Situation

Browse the phrase categories and choose the situation that matches what you need. Categories help you quickly find useful expressions for restaurants, transportation, directions, shopping, hotels, and other common travel situations.

3

Search for a Phrase

If you already know what you want to say, use the search box. Search can help you find a phrase without scrolling through the entire list. Try a simple English keyword related to your situation.

Example: search for taxi, restaurant, price, or subway to find relevant travel phrases.
4

Read the Korean Expression

Each result displays the selected-language phrase and the corresponding Korean expression. Check the Korean text before speaking or showing it to someone. This is especially useful when the phrase includes a destination, restaurant, station, or other specific travel information.

5

Tap “Play Korean”

Tap the Play Korean button to hear the Korean phrase. Listen once or twice to become familiar with the pronunciation and rhythm. You do not need to memorize every phrase; the audio is there to help you communicate more comfortably.

6

Show the Korean Text When Helpful

You can show the Korean expression on your phone instead of trying to pronounce it yourself. This can be especially useful when speaking with a taxi driver, restaurant staff, hotel employees, shop workers, or local residents.

7

Use Short Phrases in Real Situations

Voice Helper works best as a quick travel communication aid. Instead of explaining a complicated situation in one long sentence, choose a short phrase that communicates your main request. Short expressions are often easier to listen to, repeat, and understand in busy places.

Useful Situations in Seoul
  • Ordering food and communicating with restaurant staff
  • Asking for directions or finding a subway station
  • Giving a destination to a taxi driver
  • Checking into a hotel or asking for assistance
  • Shopping and asking about prices or products
  • Communicating simple requests during sightseeing
Important: Voice Helper is intended for everyday travel communication. Translation and pronunciation can sometimes vary depending on context, names, addresses, or specific expressions. For important medical, legal, financial, or emergency information, confirm the meaning with an appropriate professional or official source whenever possible.
Travel tip: You do not need to memorize Korean before visiting Seoul. Prepare a few useful phrases, listen to the Korean pronunciation, and show the Korean text when necessary. Voice Helper can help you communicate one simple phrase at a time throughout your Seoul trip.
