About Seoul Travel Tips
Seoul Travel Tips is an independent travel guide for international visitors to Seoul. We focus on the practical details that make the difference on an actual trip: which subway exit to use, how long a visit takes, what things cost, when places are closed, and how to link nearby sights into a realistic day.
Who Runs This Site
Seoul Travel Tips is created and maintained by a Seoul-based business owner who runs a company in South Korea and regularly works with international business partners visiting the country.
Helping those visitors get around Seoul showed me the same problems again and again: buying a transport card, finding the right station exit, reading Korean-only signs and menus, getting cash from an ATM that accepts foreign cards, and working out how far apart places really are. Much of that information exists, but it’s scattered across many sites and often only in Korean. This site brings it together in clear English, written from the point of view of someone who lives here.
What You’ll Find Here
- Practical guides — transport cards, the subway, airport transfers, money and ATMs, SIM cards, tax refunds and budgets.
- Neighborhood and attraction guides — from Gyeongbokgung and Bukchon to Seongsu and the Han River, with stations, exits, hours and suggested routes.
- Itineraries — 3-day, 5-day and 7-day plans arranged around palace closing days and travel times.
- Free travel tools that work in your phone’s browser:
- Seoul Subway Route Finder — routes, transfers and exits
- Walking Helper — walking directions between nearby places
- Korean Image Search — read Korean text from a photo
- Global ATM Finder — ATMs that accept foreign cards
- Seoul Pass Finder — which transport card suits your trip
How We Write and Check Our Guides
- We check facts against official sources — the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Korea Tourism Organization, palace and attraction websites, AREX and T-money — and note the month each page was last updated.
- We include concrete details: prices, opening hours, closing days, station exits and realistic visit times, not just descriptions.
- We update pages when fares, rules or opening hours change. Fares, schedules and policies in Korea do change, so for anything time-critical we always suggest confirming with the official source before you travel.
- About images: some illustrations on this site are AI-generated to show what a place or process looks like. These are noted in the site footer and are not meant to show exact current conditions.
- Independence: Seoul Travel Tips is a private website. It is not affiliated with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Korea Tourism Organization or any company we mention.
